Synthesis of cationic cobaltocenophane monomers: Isomerization and ring-opening metathesis polymerization

چکیده

We report the synthesis of cyclic cobaltocenium olefins (cationic cobaltocenophane or ansa-cobaltocenium). This is prepared by ring-closing metathesis (RCM) diallyl cobaltocenium, which isomerizes into two different dienes. The isomerization terminal alkene at higher temperature results in thermodynamically more stable internal alkene, supported computational calculation. RCM these isomers produces monomers [3]- and [4]-ansa-cobaltocenium, are further evaluated as for ring-opening polymerization (ROMP). indicate that both ansa-cobaltocenium can be copolymerized with cyclooctene derivatives towards main-chain cobaltocenium-containing copolymers.
